Vision 2025 coffee/tea event

How to run a successful Vision 2025 coffee/tea event in 10 easy steps

  1. Get permission: Explain Vision 2025 to your church leader (find out more about it here) and get their support.
  2. Get a team: It’ll be easier and more fun if you do this with a group. Enthuse about Vision 2025 to your house group, a Sunday school class or other friends.
  3. Choose a good location: Ideally use a place where there will already be a lot of people, such as after a church service, a fete, or a Scouts’ event. It helps to have access to a kitchen if possible.
  4. Choose a good date: Ideally choose a date when something is already going on to draw people together. Otherwise choose a date with as little competition as possible. Then let us know so that we can pray for you.
  5. Promote, promote, promote! People are more likely to come if they know about the event ahead of time. Announce it several times at church. Ask your church leaders to publicise it. Put up posters (having added your event details) and list it in your church bulletin or magazine.
  6. Get coffee and tea: We recommend using fair-trade coffee and tea. A good source is Traidcraft, but your local supermarket may also have a selection.
  7. Set up: Create a nice “café” atmosphere with chairs in small groups, tables with tablecloths, flowers, and a card explaining what you are raising money for. Put up a sign explaining Vision 2025 next to where you sell the coffee/tea. You can make even more money by selling homemade cakes, cookies, cream teas, squash…
  8. Hold the event and have fun! Be sure that during the event you explain about Vision 2025 so people know what you are raising money for.
  9. Send in the money you have collected: Send in a cheque with this form.
  10. Let people know how you did: Use this poster to let people know how much was raised.

Now doesn’t that sound easy? We’re sure you’ll find it’s just your cup of tea!
