Belt

Scripture Passage: 1 Kings 18:41-46

Elijah sent Ahab to eat and drink for joy because God was going to send rain. Elijah, however went to the top of the mountain called Carmel which was very high and very private. Elijah threw himself down upon his knees to show his humility and reverence for God and prayed. Seven times Elijah sent his servant to see if he could see a cloud. At last the small cloud came and the rain fell in plenty. Let us therefore not despise small things. Great blessings often arise from small beginnings if we have patience and hope. Elijah, tucking his cloak into his belt ran ahead of Ahab in his chariot. Just as God gave Elijah strength, so He gives us "strength to glorify His name".
