Cock
Scripture Passage: Mark
14:66-72
When the crowing cock reminded Peter of the warning
Jesus had given him, he was very sorry he had denied his
Lord. He repented with tears for his sin. When the
angel spoke to the woman at Jesus' tomb he gave a message
to "the disciples, including Peter". So
Peter was forgiven. When the risen Lord met with the
disciples in Galilee, He gave Peter the opportunity to take
back his words of denial (John 21:15-17). God
will forgive our sins if we truly repent and make amends
as Peter did.
Questions:
1. What did Jesus warn Peter that Peter would do?
He would
deny his Lord three times.
2. What did Peter do when he heard
the rooster crow?
He wept in repentance.
3. How did Peter make amends for his
sin?
He professed his love for Jesus three times.
Memory verse: 1
John 1:9
But if we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us and to cleanse us from every wrong. (NLT)
