Do notworry
Scripture
Passage: Matthew
6:25-27
Most of our lives
we worry about how we will get food to eat and clothes to
wear. Jesus tells us in scripture not to worry. Look
at the birds, who do not plant or reap fields, but God feeds
them. How much more will God make sure that we have
enough to eat and clothes to wear because He loves us. We
should therefore not worry but should trust Him to provide
for all our needs. Note that worrying and planning
are not the same thing. You should plan, but not worry. God
does not want us to concern ourselves all the time with the
practical problems of life. God Himself wants to be
our priority. God wants us to serve His Kingdom. He
wants us to trust Him for all our needs. Jesus keeps
reminding us that we are of great importance to God. God
does not want us to ignore our practical needs, just to trust
Him for them.
Questions:
1. How do the birds get their food?
God supplies it for them.
2. What will worrying do for us?
It will only shorten our lives.
3. How should we ask God for
what we need?
We should ask in faith and with thanks.
Memory verse: 1 Peter 5:7
Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about what happens to you. (NLT)
