Scripture Passage: 1
Timothy 6:6-10
A man once had a chicken
that laid golden eggs. He was greedy and wanted to
get all the eggs at once, so he killed the chicken and opened
her body but there were no more eggs. In our scripture,
Paul is warning us against the love of making a profit. The
more you get, the more you want. Instead we should
be happy with what we have because godliness with contentment
is great gain.
Questions:
1. What should we
be satisfied with?
We
should be thankful for what we have.
2. What happens to
those who want to get rich?
They
fall into the temptation of always wanting more.
3. Who is it
who have gone away from their faith?
It
is those who are eager for money.
Memory verse: 1
Timothy. 6:10
For the love of money is at the root of all kinds of evil. And some people, craving money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many sorrows. (NLT)
