Scripture Passage: John
19:31-34
In the Old Testament of the Bible, it was foretold
that not one of Christ's bones would be broken. It
was also foretold that His blood would be poured out. In
Luke 22:20, Jesus said that His blood would be poured out
for us. Hebrews 9:22 tells us that sins are forgiven
only if blood is shed. 1
Peter 1:9 says that it is by the precious blood of Jesus
that we are saved.
Questions:
1. Why didn't the soldiers break the legs of Jesus?
Because
he was already dead.
2. What happened when the soldier pierced
Jesus with his spear?
Blood and water poured
out.
3. Why was Jesus' blood poured out?
It was so we could be saved.
Memory verse: 1
John 1:7
But if we are living in the light of God's presence, just as Christ is, then we have fellowship with each other, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, cleanses us from every sin. (NLT)
