Market - our Temporal
World
Scripture Passage: 2
Corinthians 4:16-18
A market begins its day early and by evening
everyone has gone home. A market is a temporal thing.
In the same way we too are only temporal in this world. With
time, our bodies grow old and fade away but our souls keep
growing. Christians need not fear old age because our
souls grow closer to God with the passing of time. Therefore
let us not fix our eyes on the things of this world that
will soon pass away. Instead, let us fix our hope on
the things that God has prepared for us. Those things will
last forever.
Questions:
1. How is this world like a market?
Because both are only temporary.
2. What must we fix our eyes
on?
On eternal things.
3. Why should we concentrate on eternal things?
Because they
will last forever.
Memory verse: John
14:2
There are many rooms in my Father's home, and I am going to prepare a place for you. If this were not so, I would tell you plainly. (NLT)
