Money
Scripture: 1
Timothy 6:6-10
Paul is giving advice to Timothy. The church has been
established and has people in it who are earning money. Paul
warns about the love of making profit. People who do
so can easily fall into temptation. Instead
we should be happy with what we have because godliness with
contentment is much better.
Questions:
1. What brings us great gain?
Godliness with contentment.
2. What often happens to people
who want to get rich?
People who want to get rich fall into
temptation and a trap and into many foolish and harmful desires
that plunge men into ruin and destruction.
3. How can a desire
for money affect our faith and life?
The love of money is a
root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money,
have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many
griefs.
Memory verse: 1
Timothy 6:10
For the love of money is at the root of all kinds of evil. (NLT)
