Mother
Scripture Passage: Matthew
1:18-25
The mother of Jesus was called Mary. The birth of Jesus
was very special because Mary was still a virgin when He was
born. God had by a miracle made Mary pregnant. The
most important event in the history of the world was that God
sent His Son in the form of a baby. This child would
be called "Jesus", which means "God saves".
When He grew up His mission was to give His life to save people
from their sins.
Questions:
1. What happened to Mary while she and Joseph were
engaged?
She became pregnant through the Holy Spirit.
2. Why did Joseph
change his plans to break his engagement with Mary?
Because
an angel spoke to him and he obeyed.
3. Why was Joseph to name
the baby "Jesus"?
Because He would save His people
from their sins.
