Story of the Lost
Sheep
Scripture Passage: Luke
15:1-7
According to the Pharisees and teachers of the law, when
Jesus ate with the tax collectors, He was committing a serious
religious offence. This was because eating with someone
meant you also accepted them. These religious leaders
missed the whole point of Jesus' ministry. This ministry
was about love. He did more than just talk and preach
to them, he also ate with them. It is therefore because
of this kind of love that Jesus came to save all who come
to Him. Do we love, serve and accept others in the same way
He did?
Questions:
1. Why were the Pharisees and teachers of the law
grumbling?
Because Jesus welcomed and ate with sinners.
2. What does Jesus
say a man does when he loses one sheep?
He goes out to find
it.
3. What happens in Heaven when one sinner repents?
There is
rejoicing in Heaven.
