Whom Do I Help?
Scripture
Passage: Luke
10: 30-37
The road from Jerusalem to Jericho was a very bad
one for robbers attacking people. It was narrow and
rocky and very dangerous, so people did not travel alone
if they were carrying goods. The Priest and Levite were afraid
to stop and help the man because they knew that they might
also be attacked by the robbers. But Jesus tells us
we must help a person even when he has brought his troubles
on himself. We must help someone from a different religion
and our help must be practical. Indeed,
we must show compassion at all times, just as Jesus did.
Questions:
1. What did the Levite and Priest do when they saw
the wounded man?
They passed by.
2. What did the Samaritan do?
He treated the man's wounds and
took him to an inn.
3. In what practical ways can we help those
in need?
Food, clothes, money, hospitality, etc.
Memory verse: Galatians
6:2
Share each other's troubles and problems, and in this way obey the law of Christ. (NLT)
