Wild Pig
Scripture
Passage: Mark
5:1-15
Wild pigs were not found in Israel. People did raise
tame pigs, which they used for food. Jews were forbidden
to eat pork because it was difficult for them to cook it well.
Herod, who was the king when Jesus died, died from eating poorly
cooked pork. The disease is called trychinosis. Jesus
knew the Jews should not keep pigs or eat pork, so He allowed
the demons to enter the pigs. Jesus has complete power over
demons. It did not matter to Him that there were so many
in the man. All
spirits are subject to Jesus, who is the King of kings and
Lord of lords.
Questions:
1. Why did the demons enter the pigs?
Because Jesus commanded
them to.
2. Who is the only One who has power over demons?
Jesus has
that power.
3. Why does He have that power?
Because He is King of kings
and Lord of lords; He is the Son of God.
