A verse that’s very precious to me—has been all my ministry—is Acts 20:24, “But none of these things move me, neither count I my life dear unto myself; so that I might finish my course with joy, and the ministry, which I have received of the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of the grace of God.”

Cameron Townsend, founder of Wycliffe Bible Translators 1896-1982

It is a constant reminder that, even though we don't see it sometimes, what the Lord wants for us is far better than anything we could ever possibly dream up for ourselves. It is a reminder that He blesses us because He loves us, not because we have somehow "earned" it. It is a reminder that my future is bright because I love the Lord!

B cuz i like 2 sing and this verse reminds me that i should sing 4 the glory of God.

God intends to save and lavish his kindness on us who have hoped in the grace that comes through Jesus the Son. The Son suffered and died that the Father could show mercy to us who honour the Son. It was the will of the Father that he could show mercy in offering the Son. We can be totally confident in our great salvation.

Because it reminds me that I will be a "fool" in the world's eyes when I proclaim the truth of God's Word.

The words are pure poetry.

I know that no matter what happens to me or in my life that God loves me and cares for me and that even if I don't understand why I have to suffer through something or endure bad times, that I can trust God with my life.

We have been given the wisdom of Christ's mind through His Spirit. The Holy Spirit was upon me and led me to this verse among many others, but this one was the one that I will remember the most.

Read the whole book of Phillipians because I know that the Lord will encourage you in your time of need!

This verse is an assurance to me that no matter what... through Christ I can, When situations look to big, when I'm depressed, stressed, afraid etc if I focus on Christ I feel stronger, encouraged and loved.

Psalm 119:9 is my favorite verse because it tells us how we can live a pure life in the midst or a cruel and perverse world. And the answer is something so simple...just to obey God's Word.

"Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have summoned
you by name; you are mine." Isaiah 43. I remember when presented Sunday Morning on ITV, this passage was quoted in one of the services. Henry Gray, my minister at the time, was ill and at home watching. He wrote to say that he felt that God was speaking to him that morning through this passage and it reassured him that no matter what health trials he was facing, God was with him and that all would be ok in the end. He died a short time later and the extract was read at his funeral.

It’s all about how God took the initiative in grace to love me when I had nothing in myself good to offer him. The fact that he would show his love to such an extent gives me tremendous confidence now and for the future; I can rely on someone who loves me that
much!

One of the great themes of the Bible is encouragement. So many people have hearts that are breaking from lack of encouragement: in family life, in the church, in the workplace. People need encouragement; this Psalm speaks to them that God is close to all whose hearts are breaking.

It encourages me when things look too difficult to cope.

Keeps me from losing direction and to trust him fully.

My heart is ongoing turning from stone to flesh - a lifetime's journey. It's such a beautiful promise - not without pain, but anything that is worth striving for is bought with suffering of some kind or other.

Both my parents were Christians and I am too: this was our family motto. The good thing we all came to realise was that it is always true, even on so-called "bad" days.

I just like it - it reminds me that God is forever and unchanging.

It encourages me to look to God for everything & reminds me that He promises to strengthen us through all of life.

Every one experiences desert places in their lives. This verse reminds us that hope springs eternal in Christ Jesus. Though now all that is surrounding you may be like the barreness of a desert place - the newness of God's life will come.

God our loving Father cares about us-and will conform us to His image!

When I think about the promise that is in this verse, that God truly has made EVERYTHING beautiful in its own time, it is very encouraging. It gives me great peace to read it and know that whatever trial (or victory) I am going through at the current time will serve as a brushstroke of a beautiful picture God is painting that is His own glory.

I went to Walgreens Drug store recently and they had bookmarks and so I bought a couple and when I got home I read one of the verses that was on the bookmark and it as though God was giving me a message.I am a KATRINA victim and I've been so very
very worried about my present and my future and it was as though he was telling me it's gonna be alright.God is GOOD!

Because when I was feeling unloved one time, the Lord woke me up in the night and gave me this scripture, which was unknown to me at the time - He was telling me just how much He loves me!

When a young woman in our church suddenly died, this bible verse was a great strength to the entire church. even though that was 3 years ago, I still think it's a great encouragment in difficult times.

I was given a card during my A' Level exams and it's stayed with me ever since. As a bossy, 'everything just so' person, it comforts me in times of distress and touble. More than that, it expresses the challenges of living up to the promised freedom of my faith.

Seven years ago God gave me this verse in special circumstances when I was in the early stages of treatment for ovarian cancer. Not only did it give me the hope and assurance that He would preserve my life, it gave me a reason and purpose for all that I and my family were going through.

I grew up in a Christian home but around the age of 14 I went off track and got heavily into the partying lifestyle. I always thought that being a Christian meant that I had to give up all the things that I loved and follow boring rules.. that is just not the case.. Jesus had bought so much joy into my life. This verse proved it to me.. that God's plans are not to harm me but to bring me a future and a hope.. I now live in this hope. Thanks be to my amazing Jesus.

This verse gives me the reason why I must surrender myself to God and not try to explain what I can or cannot do. As St Augustine said, I believe so that I may understand.

Our church was planning an outreach to Romania, I felt God wanted me to go,but I had never been overseas. I signed up, but shortly after I was gripped with fear. I picked up the phone three times to call my Pastor and tell him I changed my mind and I wouldn't be going. But he either wasn't home or I chickened out. During this time I began to fast and pray for guidance. One morning after I prayed God led me to Psalms 139:7-12. Afterwards my fear was gone. I and my son had an amazing time with 24 other brothers and sisters in Christ. Spreading God's word to precious souls in Romania. God is faithful.

This verse has challenged me and encouraged me to respond to the call of God, so that those who speak my language might also confess Jesus Christ as Lord and personal Saviour in their own lives.

Because it was the verse given to my husband and I from the officiating minister on the occasion of our marriage.

I was a child about nine years old when I first read this verse and it touched my heart more than anything I had ever heard. I have lived a blessed life and really had nothing to fear but reading this verse always made me feel safer. I loved it so much that within a few days I had memorized the entire verse. No one had made me learn it and I never told anyone about this until now. Over the years I came to love many other verses in the bible but this one has remained my favorite.

This verse reminds me the intensity of the love God has for me, regardless of what I have done.

These words alone are all I need for anything I will ever face in this life. I have had them in my heart every since Sunday School 50 years ago. Up or down, on the path or off the path "The Lord is my Shepherd."

Because this is God's Heart!

Phil 3:10 is my favourite verse because it has been my 'life verse' since I first became a missionary more than 30 years ago. It means that as well as wanting to know the power of the risen life of Jesus in my life I also am willing to die daily for Him.

It sums up the way we should live. Faith in God is what it's all about. When we look to Him and trust Him with all our heart, and stop leaning on our own understanding, He takes care of everything else. Freedom! Victory!

I love it and it always cheers me up if I am annoyed or sad.

I like the reminder to not put trust in man, but to put trust in God alone.

I read this verse for the first time hours before I was diagnosied with cancer at 27. This verse reminded me all through treatment that I can Do ALL things with Christ. He is my saviour.

This verse comforts me. It reminds me that God is in control and He has a plan for my life.

It gives comfort that God will always hear and watch over the righteous.

It talks about friendship. I have a friend who has be a great help in my life. and now we help sharpen each other.

I have had many trials in my life and this verse justs helps me to look at all of the trials with the right view.

It tells of God's desire to fellowship with me and His faithfulness to our relationship.

It spoke to me at one of my lowest points in time. I especially am led by the first words "YET I will rejoice", and have used this verse in both good and bad times, because at all times I have to rejoice in the Lord.

Because it uplifts my spirit in the most difficult times

It is my favorite verse because it tells me about how important what Jesus did for me on the cross is, and i represent all that he is and his finished work on the cross.
